Richard Cooper became only the second Cup class competitor in the history of British Superbikes to qualify on the front row of the grid.Cooper was fourth fastest with Leon Camier in pole, Tommy Hill second, and Chris walker in third. Cooper was on the Co-ordit backed 2007 Yamaha R1 but despite sliding off machine in the first race more than made up for it in the second race. In very heavy rain Cooper made a cracking start and led in the early stages with camier and walker trying everything to try to catch Copper. At the half way stage the race was red flaged due to the weather conditions Cooper finished fifth overall but won the Superbike Cup Class.
