WESTY ON RECORD PACE

 

Last weekend saw the penultimate round of the MCE Insurance British Supertbike Championship at Silverstone. Leon Camier won the first superbike race on his Airwaves backed Yamaha and won this seasons British superbike Championship. One of the closest championships is the Fuchs-Silkolene Supersport 600cc with just 11 points between the top two riders. At this round it was James Westmoreland who is in third place in the standings on his ex Glen Richards 675c Triumph who was the rider again mixing it with the front runners. He went insde the lap record during qualifying to grab pole for the 18 lap race in a time of 1 minute 27.79 seconds and a speed of 90.74 mph. He took the lead on lap two and held onto it untill the finish in a race time of 26 minutes 44.94 seconds and a speed of 89.35 mph. He also set a new lap record on lap six of the race in a time of 1 minute 28.29 seconds and a speed of 90.24 mph. This was his fifth poduim of the season and he will be keen to repeat this at the final round at Oulton park between the 9th-11th of October.
